Mitel is aimed at medium to large businesses who are looking for multiple office VoIP support, and also include awesome contact center functionality. They are best known for their cloud solutions. These include seamless mobile functionality, and simple and affordable options for scalability.
Mitel Overview
Mitel has been in business since 1973, and as such, it is a household name in the world of business solutions and telecommunications. While it started out in PBX, Mitel has used the growth of VoIP as a business opportunity to rebrand, and risen to the surface as one of the stronger contenders for Cloud, On-Premise and Hybrid solutions for larger SMBs and enterprise-size organizations, too. One of the best elements of using Mitel is that all plans get all the features of that service- you won’t be charged more for any premium add-ons. Mitel has their own phones and hardware, and experienced staff who help you every step of the way.
Mitel Plans and Pricing
The Mitel Cloud Business VoIP systems are the most popular, and are detailed below. They offer powerful and scalable Business VoIP without the need for hardware. Simply buy the phones and you’re good to go at a monthly fee . As well as these, there are on-premise or hybrid options available, which will need installation. These may incur additional costs that vary between resellers. The pricing here is not transparent, and you need to make sure to speak to sales about exactly what you need before you start. This will ensure you understand all the costs involved. There may be separate costs for buying the phones themselves, as well as adding call center functionality. The standard monthly costs start at $30 per user.

Mitel Ease of Use and Setup
Micloud Connect is cloud-based, and so you don’t need to install any equipment at all to get started. Mitel will send out the phones, and handle all maintenance and upgrades that you might need. All the system components are housed in the Mitel data centers. Mitel recommends that you have a fiber connection, and 100 KBps for each call which takes place at the same time. For on-premise solutions, the installation will be more extensive, but Mitel will come and make sure everything is installed and running smoothly. When it comes to upgrades or maintenance – this is on the business however.
Mitel runs on all devices, from Desktop and Tablet, to Mobile devices running on iOS and Android. Their uptime is an impressive 99.97%-100%, and they will even provide credits on your future bills if they drop below 99.9%. Now that’s a promise we can get behind.
The Mitel interface is simple to use, and makes collaboration and analytics easy to support. For call center staff, the learning curve is very low.
Mitel Customer Support

There are separate phone numbers for technical support, sales, cloud support or general information. There is also an in-depth help center with a video training hub and a user forum.
Mitel Bottom Line
I’d love to see a live chat, and some more transparent information on pricing and contracts. However, for large businesses looking for feature-rich business VoIP and call center communications, Mitel is one of the best on the market.
